SUP Lessons

Learn to SUP with Bodie Shandro, one of North America’s very first professionally certified instructors and international SUP competitors. The Golf Course at Sun Peaks

Sun Peaks Resort offers a one-of-a-kind BC golf vacation opportunity with the greens located at 1,200 metres above sea level, making the Golf Course at Sun Peaks Resort British Columbia’s highest elevation course.

Surrounded by natural foliage and panoramic mountain views, the challenging 18-hole par 72 Graham Cooke is centered along the valley floor amongst the three surrounding mountains, Tod, Sundance, and Morrisey. Bonuses of the higher elevation is that your ball flies longer, plus, the higher mountain air provides for cooler summer days; Sun Peaks is often 10 degrees cooler than Kamloops.

Voyageur Canoe Tours

Join the North West Voyageur Company for a trip into Canada’s storied past by paddling an authentic voyageur canoe around McGillivray Lake at Sun Peaks. Our local lakes are home to resident osprey, bald eagles, loons, beaver, and thousands of trout. The lakes are also home to moose, bear, and even cougars all of which are frequently spotted. Through this completely non-strenuous trip guests will receive great insight into how this nation was explored, discovered, and eventually established.

Mountain Cross Carts

A definite must-do activity when visiting Sun Peaks—and maybe the most exciting and exhilarating way to descend a mountain! Sun Peaks Resort is home to North America’s first (and only!) Mountain Cross Cart (MCC) course. Although this may loosely resemble favourite childhood go-carts, the mountain environment and tight corners add an exciting twist, and the 52 metre vertical descent make this adventure a little more daring than the days of yore!

Powder Hounds

Another of the locals favorites, Powder Hounds (I love that name) offers up some of the best Schnitzel anywhere!! Their doors have been open since 1998 so they’ve gotta be doing something right!

Doorbells and sleigh bells and schnitzel with noodles

These are a few of my favorite things…

Voyageur Bistro

Yummy!! I took a survey and that’s the common consensus of the locals, Voyageur Bistro overwhelmingly won as the favorite local dining spot! As it’s name suggests this restaurant is Canadiana all the way…Bison and Bannock for brunch anyone?

Bottoms Bar & Grill

Welcome to the local’s living room!! Exquisite pub food, warm atmosphere, and exceptionally awesome staff make this an unforgettable experience whether here for lunch, dinner, or a night on the town…go where the locals go.
