OUTDOOR SKATING RINK
Winter 2017 Sun Peaks Resort opened the new NHL sized outdoor ice skating rink. Take to the ice and drop in for public skating or try out our drop in hockey sessions.
Skate and stick rentals are available at the rink. The ice skating rink is only a short walk from the village, just past the Sports Centre.

HORSE DRAWN SLEIGH RIDES
Experience the mode of travel of days gone by while touring the beautiful village of Sun Peaks and surrounding area. Whether spring, summer, winter, or fall, Sun Peaks Stable’s graceful draft horses provide sleigh, carriage, trail, and wagon rides for your enjoyment.

SKIING AND SNOWBOARDING
Sun Peaks is the 2nd largest ski resort in Canada, terrain wise, second only to Whistler/Blackcomb, with almost 4300 acres of ski terrain. Wow! We have more powder days than should be allowed!

SNOWMOBILING TOURS
Explore the Sun Peaks backcountry on one of several snowmobiling tours offered. Add some horsepower to your mountain experience to get the adrenaline flowing and marvel in the beauty of the Thompson-Nicola that surrounds you!

SNOWSHOEING TOURS
A lot of folks that don’t ski or board still enjoy a winter holiday, snowshoeing is an excellent way to see the beauty that they otherwise wouldn’t experience, and all you have to know how to do is walk. Experience one of the oldest forms of transportation at Sun Peaks, which has an awesome assortment of snowshoeing trails – ‘probably the biggest collection in Western Canada from a resort, with over 14 kilometers over five different trails, all departing from the village base.’ ~Doc Pow

TUBE PARK
With its curving lanes, Tube Time is a ride unlike any other lift accessed tube park.

WHITECROFT WATERFALL
Just a 20 minute hike from our suite is the beautiful Whitecroft Waterfall. A beauty to behold any time of year, this hike is suitable for even young children.

FAT BIKING
Exciting! Sun Peaks has introduced Fat Biking this winter, another fun activity for you to partake in to enjoy the fresh mountain air and beautiful surroundings. Like regular bicycling, fat bikes are intended for off-road cycling with wider, oversized tires to handle the snow.

HELMCKEN FALLS
I’ve done a lot of hiking in this beautiful province and seen many spectacular views that only two feet and a heartbeat can take you to. Helmcken Falls however, is a short walk off of the road and one of the most breathtaking sights I have ever seen at 463 ft (141 m) high and 75 ft (23 m) wide!! It’s only a 2 hour drive from our suite, in Wells Gray Provincial Park, and well worth the excursion. You’ll never forget it…I promise!

Powder Hounds
Another of the locals favorites, Powder Hounds (I love that name) offers up some of the best Schnitzel anywhere!! Their doors have been open since 1998 so they’ve gotta be doing something right!
Doorbells and sleigh bells and schnitzel with noodles
These are a few of my favorite things…

Capone’s Italian Kitchen
Capone’s Italian Kitchen is the place for upscale Italian cuisine! A brand new bar to serve you in style with a modern take on the best pasta, seafood, vegetarian and family-style dining in Sun Peaks.

Bottoms Bar & Grill
Welcome to the local’s living room!! Exquisite pub food, warm atmosphere, and exceptionally awesome staff make this an unforgettable experience whether here for lunch, dinner, or a night on the town…go where the locals go.
