…no two are alike. I get the distinct pleasure of meeting people from all walks of life; lawyers, doctors, farmers, chefs, tattoo artists, writers, pilots…the list goes on. The one thing that they all have in common when they arrive at our door is their glowing smiles. They come to celebrate honeymoons, birthdays, anniversaries and engagements, as well as getaways, kid free escapes, ski holidays and so many more occasions. I love knowing that even though everyone has hard times and heartaches, when they come to see us all of that is set aside, even if just for a little while. We once had a lovely couple stay with us for a couple of days, she left a note for me when they had gone sharing her experience. I have a wooden box of 365 ‘Gathered Truths’ on the mantle of the fireplace in the suite, her note started that when they first arrived she had pulled one card from the box and it read: “Even if I knew that tomorrow the world would go to pieces, I would still plant my apple tree.” ~ Martin Luther. She went on to explain that she had lost her son, and that he was buried beneath an apple tree. She knew then that she was right where she was supposed to be.
The universe has a way of pulling us in a needed direction…to learn, to experience, to suffer, to love, to heal. There have been so many occasions when this place has silently spoken to our guests, and I feel honored to be the curator of these walls.

That is an amazing story Isabel. Thank you so much for sharing. Please know that for all the people who left a note with an experience, there are likely just as many, or more, who had similar experiences but just did not, or could not, leave a note. Well done!
